Six Sigma adopted by Pilkington Global Manufacturing Improvements Team to engage the Divisions of Pilkington in production enhancing, cost-saving projects.

Programme

• Training and project support for Black Belts with European-wide deployment


• Black Belts trained from UK, Germany, Finland and Sweden


• Rigorous certification process developed: in-training assessments, project report assessment, individual vivas.


• Creating internal training capability by developing the Black Belts as Green Belt trainers and providing full material and equipment support

Phase 1: Train-the-Trainer programme - facilitation and presentation skills, material familiarisation
Phase 2: Mentored co-delivery of Green Belt programme to Pilkington staff
Phase 3: Pilkington Black Belts deliver unsupported, with call-off coaching as required

• Master Black Belt development programme being adopted - advanced skills enhancement, mentoring and coaching, Train-the-Trainer programme


• Senior management workshops to identify projects and coach champions
