16-DAY Services Six Sigma™ Advanced Green Belt Training
Course Tutors: Prof. Tony Bendell, Stan Bennett, Dr. Nick Corke

Introduction

Advanced Green Belts receive 16 days training and typically spend 20-40% of time on improvement activities.

Our public certificated Black and Green Belt programmes are project-based incorporating a delegate project to be undertaken between four-day training blocks. Black and Green Belt programmes are overlapping — the 20-day Black Belt programme incorporating five four-day training modules typically two to three weeks apart and the 12 to 16-day Green Belt programme consisting of the first three (for Green Belt) or four (for Advanced Green Belt) of these modules. Delegates are encouraged to bring their own laptops to these courses to maximise learning. We also recommend the use of MINITAB software.

Included in the programme costs are delegates’ notes and facilities, lunches and refreshments during the courses plus a one-day company consultancy familiarisation visit, ongoing project supervision and project assessment and certification by Professor Bendell and colleagues for successful participants. Courses are non-residential, however, local accommodation can be arranged on request at cost.

Our Approach

Services Ltd. has developed a unique approach to Six Sigma implementation based on a “whole-brain” approach rather than the typical primarily “left-brain” one used on many traditional programmes. This reflects our belief that Black and Green Belts and managers need specific training and mentoring to develop the creative skills necessary for their roles, in addition to the essential statistical and computing expertise. Our programmes also focus on the overall maximisation of Profit and Customer Satisfaction instead of just the sub-optimal minimisation of Cost.

Aim

This programme may be suitable for smaller organisations who do not already hold Black Belt status. It is similar to the ultimate Black Belt Programme, in that it produces an experienced practitioner of engineering or process improvement who is capable at competently applying Six Sigma to the benefit of the firm, this programme comprises of 16 training days and all participants are expected to work a minimum of 40% of their time (circa 2 days a week) on improvement projects.
