Taking knowledge sharing to the next level
Welcome to the onesixsigma.com Market and Knowledge Newsletter for October.
Last month I was pleased to attend the i&i Members user group meeting on the subject of “Embedding Continuous Improvement in your organisation”. The meeting was notable because the whole environment was set up to facilitate the sharing of knowledge; not just in the usual presentation or workshop format (which this meeting still had, and very good they were too), but in such a way that individual challenges were matched with applicable knowledge.
That is to say that all the professionals who attended – all of whom were practitioners – were encouraged to share their knowledge and experience on several germane issues, including their own. It was an interesting and original format that resulted in a successful meeting. For more on this: http://www.onesixsigma.com/node/9621
Ever in search of balance, in the coming month we will be bringing you interviews with an improvement programme leader from a successful, award winning European-based electronics firm who have seen some incredible gains form their Six Sigma programme… as well as a fierce opponent of “codified” improvement methodologies.
In addition, we’ll take a look at a successful rail-based project, run the rule over ISO 9001, and of course delve into some more tool guides.
Finally, we will be announcing some major changes to onesixsigma.com in the next month, so make sure you keep coming back to the site.
