* Strong Project Manager who can work independently and make necessary decisions.

Description

My Client is a leading FMCG good manufacturer with European HQ in Switzerland.

They have just started a global Operational Excellence (OE) programme that will span across their production, purchasing, distribution, engineering and supply chain sectors.

The OE programme is currently being rolled out within the distribution and transportation sector and this challenging opportunity is focused on deploying Lean and Six Sigma within these 2 sectors.

This is a greenfield opportunity and implementation of Lean and Six Sigma will be the catalysts to drive cultural and organizational change. The internal and external processes are untouched in regards to process improvement.

The #1 goal is to introduce Lean and Six Sigma within the transportation and logistical processes and streamline them.

The focus of your deployment will be to oversee the global transportation of:

* Raw materials to international production sites.
* Finished goods to EU warehouses.
* Finished product from warehouses to international customers.

You will use Lean and Six Sigma as strategic tools to justify your management decisions and reengineer certain processes for financial or logistical benefit.

Additional responsibilities:

* Oversee a large multi million Euro transport expenditure in partnership with country logistics managers, worldwide.

* Create a common framework for transport measurement systems and bidding.

* Market research and negotiation of optimized costs/contracts with vendors.

* Price calculations and deals in collaboration with external and internal partners

* As-is-analysis and optimization of existing transport logistics concepts (implement lean concepts to improve lead times and costs).

* Optimization of flow of goods processes (raw material & finished goods) globally with all parties concerned.

* Development and implementation of new, future-oriented concepts.

This role is based in Canton Zurich and requires you to travel max 10-20% of your time.

Current reporting line is to Global Head of Distribution.

Career progression within 18-24 months is to be Global Team leader within the production, purchasing, distribution or engineering sectors. You will manage your own team of experts.
