Balanced Scorecard, Communities of Practice and Hoshin Kanri
We have been experiencing technical difficulties and apologise if you have received this newsletter twice.
Welcome to the Knowledge & Market newsletter for March.
Over the next few weeks on onesixsigma.com we will be taking a look at Balanced Scorecard, Communities of Practice, and Hoshin Kanri.
The concept of Balanced Scorecard was introduced by Kaplan and Norton in the early 90s, and it would be fair to say that it has had considerable success in many organisations, revolutionising strategic management systems and making strategy and business improvement much more visible and manageable.
Communities of Practice are a newer concept that have the potential to revolutionise not only how an business improves its processes, but also how it improves and innovates it's entire organisation. Collaboration is a hot topic within the business world, and Communities of Practice provide the means for successful collaboration.
We will also be looking at Hoshin Kanri, the policy deployment methodology based on Deming's PDCA cycle that has seen an increase in attention due to it's association with Toyota.
Our official events partner, i&i, is organising a User Group Meeting (UGM) on these subjects, which will take place on the 25th April in London, UK. Numbers will be restricted to ensure high quality collaboration. Companies attending this UGM include DuPont, Royal Mail, Shell International, Starwood Hotels, TNT Express, Virgin Media and Vodafone. Follow this link to register your interest.

If your area of expertise is any of these three subjects, then please get in touch to discuss ways in which you can get involved in both the online content and the upcoming UGM.
