1st User Group Meeting 2008, 25 April, London
User Group Meeting Updates January 2008 The onesixsigma.com events update for the Six Sigma and Lean Professional
The first User Group Meeting (UGM) of 2008 is brought to you by i&i Members in partnership with onesixsigma.com on the 25th April. This networking event will be hosted by Starwood Hotels at the Cafe Royal Hotel, London. The meeting has been created for business leaders to meet, learn and share knowledge to drive business improvement and innovation.
Setting the direction of change is a fundamental precursor to change itself and changing the right things represents effective use of change management resources. Business Improvers are adept - efficient - at applying the DMAIC methodology to processes and through waste elimination and variation reduction can readily demonstrate enhanced process performance. If efficient is 'doing things right', then effective is 'doing the right things'.
This April, the User Group Meeting will explore how our organisations can focus on doing the right things and will be illustrated by inputs on Hoshin Kanri and the Balanced Scorecard.
The second theme of the meeting will focus on leveraging the learning from any change activity through the development of Communities of Practice.
Communities of Practice exist everywhere and yet remain an untapped source of creating competitive advantage through ‘joined up thinking’. In this meeting, we will see how large successful companies such as BP and Shell have benefited from a more studied approach to harnessing and sharing the wealth of knowledge its members have.
