“Embedding a Continuous Business Improvement Culture”
This meeting has been designed to meet the ever-growing need for organisations to shift their (often branded Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement, Customer First) programmes from a detached portfolio of projects towards continuous improvement as
‘Business as Usual’.
In order to explore the critical success factors and failure modes, the UGM agenda addresses two levels: leadership and employee engagement. The Knowledge Market, an effective way of sharing knowledge assets, will follow.
Leadership Engagement
The vision and culture of an organisation are driven and guided by the senior executive team. The engagement, commitment and communication from this team determine its success. If the whole business is to realise true change, then all of the senior executives, the champions and leaders need to provide direction and drive business improvement through a clear vision and organisational alignment.
This session is focused on the transformation journey of the deployment itself, looking at practical examples of how leaders have affected change and enabled performance improvement. Ian McMorrough leads the discussion and will share experiences from global deployments at both Rockwell Automation and Dell Computers.
Employee Engagement
The mindsets and behaviours of the organisation’s people, when aligned to the company’s strategic goals, fuel a powerful force for driving improvement. Organisations need to address employee engagement in order to shift from the reactive ‘fire-fighting’ environments to achieve operational excellence and value creation for customers that is driven from the ground up by an empowered workforce.
This session will provide practical insight into how DuPont de Nemours is changing culture in the workplace and focusing on winning the hearts and minds of the employees.
The Knowledge Market – “Sharing and Learning on Business Improvement”
The ‘Knowledge Market’ enables purposeful knowledge transfer. i&i members are guided through a proven and fast-paced process to extract and share knowledge from within the community. This session identifies common challenges amongst members and knowledge exchange is professionally facilitated through focused questioning and collaborative problem solving.
The Knowledge Market consists of both supply and demand elements. During the session, delegates exchange ‘Knowledge Assets’. Valuable experience from member companies is explored through group questioning, drawing out tacit knowledge and uncovering the ‘nuggets’ of learning. Real issues raised by members are discussed to see how the community can help, generating ideas and actionable insights for all.
Through participation in the knowledge market, delegates will take away the experience and tacit knowledge from the group and the output from this session will be captured in the post meeting report - a valuable summary of the day’s discussion, which is produced in partnership with onesixsigma.com.
