The Industrialisation of Financial Services; Lean and Six Sigma Implementation

Lean and Six Sigma

Celerant hosted an executive board dinner which took place at the exclusive ‘Royal Exchange’ at Bank in London on Wednesday 9th May. Nearly 50 select senior executives from the Financial Services sector attended the dinner.

After a brief introduction by Tony Tarquini, Celerant’s Head of Financial Services, Carole Plant, Head of Performance Improvement for Barclays Global Retail and Commercial Banking, talked about her experience in utilising six sigma within Financial Services, and what could be achieved if six sigma was applied in a more wide and sophisticated manner.

This was then followed by Estelle Clark, Quality Director for The Financial Ombudsman Service, who discussed Industrialisation from a consumer perspective, and the part that six sigma could play in improving customer experience and issue resolution.

After dinner, Colin Calder, Business Advisor for Celerant Consulting, and moderator for the evening, summarised the evening, and conducted a very engaging and active Q & A discussion.

Feedback from the evening was very positive.

“We felt there was a great need for this event. Many financial service companies have managed to achieve short-term cost savings by moving call centres and back office functions to lower cost locations. However, this does not deliver competitive advantage unless the business maintains highly efficient processes in the new location and continues to deliver innovative products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations. The key to this event was to show how successful lean and six sigma implementation can gain real business benefits”.
Tony Tarquini, Head of Financial Services, Celerant Consulting.

“This event has helped Celerant build its reputation in the market as leaders in Process Excellence”.
Julian Ferguson, Marketing Director UK, Celerant Consulting.
