In-House Six Sigma Training

Lean and Six Sigma

Executive Overview:

An executive overview can be arranged typically lasting from 2 hours to day. This session demonstrates how Six Sigma works, explains the key ingredients for success, the practicalities of Six Sigma and what has been achieved in relevant sectors.

Awareness Training:

This one-day programme introduces the concepts and principles of Six Sigma. It will suit anyone who needs a good awareness of Six Sigma, the methodology, tools and the language.

Champions/Process Owner training:

A one or two day programme configured to demonstrate the benefits of Six Sigma, gain commitment to the approach and help the attendees to understand how to undertake the role of Champion and Process Owner in a Six Sigma environment.

Foundation Level Green Belt:

Our Foundation Green Belt training is our core programme for Six Sigma team members who require a good knowledge of the DMAIC methodology and who require a sound understanding of Six Sigma tools. This programme includes some of the "soft" change management tools that we believe are as important as the ‘hard’ analytical tools. This course does not cover the more advanced statistical techniques or the use of Minitab which are covered in other options below. This training programme is normally delivered in two modules of three-days that can be structured around live-projects that delegates bring with them.

Green Belt Plus:

This 8 day course configured in modules first covers the Foundation programme described above (3+3 days) and then introduces the use of Minitab without going into the more advanced statistical tools

Advanced Green Belt:

We also offer a nine-day, three-module based Advanced Green Belt training course, which combines in a condensed and accelerated format, our Six Sigma Foundation course with several elements from our Advanced Six Sigma programme. This programme is particularly appropriate for delegates who need to have a deeper knowledge of Six Sigma statistical tools and the statistical software Minitab. We also offer this course on open enrolment.

Yellow Belt Training:

This can be configured as either a two or three day training course and will suit anyone who needs an understanding of what Six Sigma is and how it works in practice. The course includes practical training on basic Six Sigma tools encouraging their application in everyday use.

Six Sigma Statistical Tools

Delegates who already have a basic knowledge of Six Sigma but who now need to learn the more advanced statistical tools and gain practical hands-on training in Minitab can attend our self-contained 6-day Six Sigma Statistical Tools programme, in two 3-day modules. Delegates will need to have a good knowledge of Six Sigma basics, typically through attending a Yellow Belt or Green Belt Foundation Programme. No prior knowledge of Minitab is needed. A full practical introduction is included at the start of this programme. Delegates will need to bring a laptop computer. We can provide temporary evaluation copies of Minitab if required.

Change Management training

We find the ‘soft’ tools as important as the ‘hard’ Six Sigma toolkit and have therefore integrated several of them into our Green belt programmes. However we also run a 2-day change management programme called Catalyst For Change. (C4C) This programme addresses more of the ‘soft’ issues and skills needed for successful implementation of change. For example: Stakeholder management, how to gain ‘acceptance’, overcoming resistance to change in more detail. This programme is configured to meet specific needs.

Advanced Black Belt and Master Black Belt Level Training/Coaching

Our Pure Black Belt training programme is ten days additional training delivered in modules a couple of months after the initial green belt training and it is based around more advanced use of the Minitab statistical software with a revision of the earlier training. A copy of the Black Belt Advanced course binder would be supplied to each attendee together with the datasets necessary to run the examples.

We also offer Master Black Belt level coaching and mentoring tailored for specific clients.

Design For Six Sigma Training

This three day module builds on the core training and covers the design of new products and processes using tools such as Quality Function deployment.

Lean Thinking in Service and Transactions

This is a three-day module aimed at eliminating waste using simple effective tools. The module covers a brief history of Lean, introduces the Toyota Production System, and covers a set of straightforward tools relevant to service and transaction organisations to provide best quality, lowest cost, and shortest lead time through the elimination of waste. We normally integrate this module (as with all our modules) into an overall Six Sigma training programme.

Project Coaching

In order to maximise the value of the Six Sigma training and its relevance to your business initiatives, we offer coaching/consulting days provided during and after the training as required. Success of your initial projects is vital to ensure continued momentum, organizational support and enthusiasm.
