Develop Better New Products with Fewer "Designed in" Defects
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a powerful problem solving methodology aimed at tackling core product development issues. If you are in a role of developing new products from an R&D perspective, you will benefit from learning the tools and methods this course will teach you for foreseeing and eliminating potential defects before and during the design process. This five-day program delivers a thorough education on DFSS's DMADV (Define-Measure-Analyze-Design-Verify) methodology and is designed to help business professionals master a variety of techniques to enhance the design process.
DFSS is built around the idea that design is a truly cross functional undertaking rather than simple the sole responsibility of a product designer. While statistical design tools are integral to this course, you will also learn about VOC (Voice of the Customer), financial analysis and supplier selection.
Choose a manufacturing or transactional focused class to meet your needs. This is a five day course.
What You Will Learn
* How to design new products using the DMADV methodology
* When to use DMADV over the Six Sigma DMAIC process
* How to complete financial assessments and risk analysis projects
* Practical applications of DFSS tools
* Design of Experiments (DOE)
* Product tolerance analyses including Monte Carlo Simulation
* How to properly analyze reliability data
* How to describe the principles of Design for Manufacturer and Assembly (DFMA)
* How to select appropriate maintenance strategies for products
* What the overlapping areas between Lean and DFSS are and when to use each one to your advantage
Course Length:
5 days.
Who should attend:
